#HCHQ #GRAMMYS 2014 Comment

#HCHQ Grammys 2014 Comment: Ok was it just me or were the #GRAMMYs boring/OTT and Her Madgeness out of tune? THAT was embarrassing (although not unsurprising) second only to Steve Tyler’s appalling rendition of Smokey’s tune. Smokey Robinson himself struggled to contain his mirth.

I did enjoy Macklemore & Lewis: their anti-homophobia anthem ‘Same Love’. But the rest just too stereotypically OTT USA stylee for me.

I note that “…Myley Cyrus had the good sense to skip the three and a half hour snooze-fest that was Sunday’s ceremony in favor of playing Guitar Hero. Anyone who watched last night’s awards knows who made the right choice…”(Huffington Post, Jan 28, 2014)  So it wasn’t just me then!

I also note that Her Coolness and most exciting &  provocative female icon since Madonna (Lady Gaga) also had the good sense to avoid. Rihanna was another notable non-attendee. Although I doubt they were all round Miley’s playin’ Guitar Hero, mind you that is a vaguely rock n roll scene to picture in one’s head.

I’m not engaging in the who was the best/worst dressed on red carpet shit because well… its shit and shallow and in the words of Caitlin Moran “I am a strident feminist!”

Lastly, why DID they have to wait until half the Beatles were no more before they gave them a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award? I reckon if John were here, he’d of done a Miley and run (a Mile-y) probably round to the Mother Monster’s herself … now imagine a duet with them two 😉 that would be cool!
