Hannah’s Second Story makes London Evening Standard

Hannah tweeted from #HCHQ that an air ambulance was circling her London home on June 10th 2016: London’s Evening Standard and local Richmond & Twickenham Times picked up the story and subsequent pictures:

Hannah’s First Published Newspaper Article article No1 Most Popular

‪#‎HCHQ‬ Ahem…thrilled to announce: MY FIRST PUBLISHED ARTICLE in a newspaper. Kinda fell in my lap this one, well almost…
“Chunk of ice ‘size of breeze block’ falls from plane onto road in Sheen, London.”

Thanks to George Odling and Richmond & Twickenham Times for the joint by-line.

There WILL be more writings of a MUSIC-related INTERVIEW nature on their way…so watch this space

“…A chunk of ice “the size of a breezeblock” fell from a plane on Tuesday morning onto a road in Sheen.

Hannah Clive, 40, witnessed the ice narrowly miss parked cars in Alexandra Road at about 10.45am and said the block landed with a loud bang.

The musician and writer, who is the daughter of the late actor and author John Clive, told the Richmond and Twickenham Times: “I was sitting there talking with my mother on the phone and interrupted her saying ‘mum, something just fell out of the sky’.”

Ms Clive said she investigated the fall with trepidation given that the body of a man had fallen from a plane onto the roof of a Richmond office last summer.

She said: “I wasn’t sure what I would find.

“It narrowly missed my car and there were large chunks of ice the size of a fist scattered all over the pavement and between the cars.

“I’m glad there were no children or adults walking past because it would surely have killed them had it hit them.

“A lot of parents with children walk down this road on their way to local primary schools but thankfully it’s the Easter holidays so many people are away.”

Ice can form from water leaking from aircraft, according to the Civil Aviation Authority, and it is a misconception that toilet waste is ever to blame as the facilities are only emptied when the plane reaches the ground.

There are roughly 35 reported cases of ice falling from planes in the UK each year.

Chairman of anti airport expansion group Hacan John Stewart said should Heathrow be given a third runway then ice falling from planes would be something Londoners saw more frequently.

Mr Stewart said: “Inevitably there will be more ice falling, there could well be more bodies falling too, for the very simple reason there will be a quarter of a million more planes flying over London.

“Any move to bring in quieter or cleaner planes makes absolutely no difference to the number of ice blocks or people falling from the planes.”

A spokeswoman from Heathrow Airport said she was unable to speculate whether the ice had actually come from a plane as there was no evidence either way, but urged anyone who believe they might be affected by similar situations to email heathrownoiseschemehelpdesk@tftconsultants.com. …” (Richmond & Twickenham Times, 2016)

Hannah Fulfils Lifetime Dream & Visits Abbey Road Studios, London

#HCHQ : Hannah Interviews Impolite Conversation Magazine Founder for their 10th Edition

#HCHQ Reports:

As part of Hannah’s burgeoning wider-media role and following in her best-selling author father’s literary footsteps, Hannah Clive agreed to turn “Parkinson” and interview Matthew Wherry, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Impolite Conversation magazine, for their celebratory 10th Edition.
Impolite Conversation : “…Contentious subjects, civilised discussion…”

Hannah already plays an active role as a Writer, Editor and Media Consultant for this 21st Century socio-political online magazine. Impolite Conversation regularly features interviews with key figures from the British cultural and political scene, as well as articles covering a diverse and often contentious range of subjects – be it sex, religion, politics, science or culture – Impolite Conversation is a magazine that goes where others fear to tread! The publication was originally conceived by it’s Founder Matthew Wherry back in the eighties when he was a teenager; as his publisher father and Co-Founder of Bloomsbury Books kindly pointed out, printing restrictions and the economics thereof prevented Matthew from realising his idea for a ground-breaking magazine, however the seed was sown:

“…Nothing represented my family, my friends, the world I lived in, the positivity, the cheerfulness, the ideas we were exposed to, the writers, the philosophies, the politics or the music…I liked Private Eye…but there just wasn’t anything out there showing my world…”

And with the advent of the digital age, a good idea that just wouldn’t go away and a few more years experience on the clock, Matt has now made his dream a reality. A space where readers can read about new ideas and an alternate view, where both established and newer writers can submit articles for publication and where a very real community is growing. Hannah’s interview with Founder and Editor-In-Chief Matthew Wherry can be found here.

Further Royal Academy Gig Success for MILLER ROMANO & CLIVE

Royal Academy Gig Success: MILLER ROMANO & CLIVE have done it again! Hot on the heels of their previous RA gig, as part of the RA’s exclusive Dennis Hopper Exhibition event, MILLER ROMANO and CLIVE wowed an audience of special guests attending a special event this time celebrating the work of seminal Pop-Art sculptor and artist Allen Jones.

Mossy

Honoured to be invited back to perform once again, the band performed an eclectic blues-orientated set, blending contemporary originals taken from Greg Miller’s as-yet-untitled forthcoming debut album, along with other timeless but seemingly wholly relevant 60’s songs. A very informal and intimate, ‘pop-up’ style experience followed, seeing the band and audience interacting in a way which perhaps echoed similar spontaneous gatherings so often read about from the sixties; a time of significant change and upheaval with many parallels to our own present socio-political landscape.

Certainly the songs chosen reflected contemporary troubled times, much as they did when they were first written and given harmonica player MILLER is himself French, his duet with CLIVE on the French classic “La Javaniase” had a particular resonance not lost on their audience. But far from being melancholy or an obvious reference to recent tragic events in Paris, MILLER ROMANO & CLIVE performed the song with both confidence and humour – thus celebrating art in the face of attacks on freedom of artistic expression.

After two sets the band were pleasantly surprised and humbled by the sheer volume of audience members who took the time to come thank them and share their enthusiasm with the band post-gig; this further confirmed when half the audience followed the band to the pub afterwards! Suffice to say by accounts, a good night was had by all…long may they continue.

A very Special thank you from the band goes out to The RA, the sound engineer and staff who so beautifully enabled the band by making them feel so at home. Truly an honour…here’s to more!

And thus more art gets made 😉

A few words from a Happy Hannah…

Delighted to report that our album recording has begun…in sunny Acton! Which is brilliant because it’s my old stomping ground as far as musical recordings go…like putting on an old, comfy parka! Pleased also to relate (and in no way surprised given the sheer pleasure of rehearsals) …album is sounding fantaaa-stic! We’re flyin’ – a mix of the best in new and old studio techniques, plus good old fashioned talent…and Man that studio is jumpin’ 🙂 Happy days…

Top Quotes so far…

Giulio: “Man you scared the shit outta me!” on having his headphones silently removed by drummer Alessandro – One way not to hear the click when doing a slow down at the end ;))

Engineer on speed with which we are executing the task:

“I find it helps when people actually know what they’re doing…so many people forget that these days!”

And so it begins: Album: Day One...

And so it begins: Album: Day One…
